Following the tremendous interest in our Message of HOPE during 2010 and 2011, the organizing committee is pleased to present in Qatar for the very first time, the Messengers of HOPE 2012-13 - a team of five handicapped artists who paint with their foot and mouth.

These artists are from the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists organization, whose motto is ‘Self-help, not charity’. Each one of them is a champion, having overcome personal tragedies to become ambassadors of hope. Having either lost the use of their hands or in some cases both hands and legs, they have taken up to painting with either their mouth or foot. Each one of our messengers this year can be compared at par with professional artists anywhere in the world. Their art works have been exhibited and received wide acclaim and awards.

In Qatar they will participate in exhibitions and conduct workshops in February 2013  at different venues including at Qatar Foundation's Education City. They will involve with different groups of students and general public where they will display their artworks and their artistic talents in sessions that promises to influence the lives of over thousand attendees forever.

The schedule is as below:

February 3 - 14 : Art Exhibition at the Hamad bin Khalifa University Student Center Art Gallery located within Qatar Foundation’s Education City. This exhibition featuring some of the original paintings by these artists, so immaculately created by strokes of brush using either their mouth or foot is sure to touch your hearts. Come with families and friends and be inspired. You will also have the opportunity to buy some of these paintings and prints.

February 6 & 7 : Workshops at various venues and for various groups of audiences including special sessions for school and college students, corporate and business groups, art and craft groups, and a special session for the general public. Imagine wanting to paint and not having hands to do it with. Now imagine the same situation for any of our life's needs and desires. If you encounter challenges that can break you, what would you do? Give up or work towards overcoming it? Come and be part of this event to know how to overcome challenges in life and be successful. Make sure your children and families attend as well since everyone irrespective of age faces challenges these days. Unfortunately not everyone knows how to overcome these. Let our artists show you how they overcame their challenges.

And while you are at it, you could even get to try and create a painting without using your hands.
